[City of Placerville]
March 6, 2020 – As news and concerns about the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continue to build up, we want our citizens to know the City of Placerville are taking necessary precautions necessary to ensure their safety. While there are no known cases of the virus in El Dorado County, our first responders and public safety agencies are preparing should our community be impacted. Our El Dorado County Fire and Placerville Police are fully staffed, and are prepared to respond as necessary. Should the need arise, we will work closely with our County partners, including County OES and County Public Health to ensure the safety or our citizens and our first responders.
It is important for our community members to understand the important role they play in this readiness plan. To help prevent the spread of germs and any illness, all standard precautions should be observed with care in the coming weeks. Remember to wash your hands often for at least 20 seconds with soap and warm water, stay home if you feel ill, and avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Attached is a link to the El Dorado County Public Health Website which has regular updates on the Coronavirus. In addition, attached is a statement released by Cal OES; California Health and Human Services; and California Department of Public Health providing a status update on the State and National Level. This statement will be updated regularly.
We understand that your concerns and we encourage our community members to follow this evolving situation via the following El Dorado County Public Health Webpage.
