The Spirit of Benny 10K/5K Fun Run & Walk event is in memory of little Benny who passed in 2010 at the young age of 5 from Battens Disease. Benny was a rambunctious 3 1/2 year old when he was diagnosed with Batten's disease. He passed on and the tender age of 5. Benny was passionate about life. He touched the lives of so many with his bear-strength hugs when he was healthy, to his his sweet smile later on when he could no longer move or speak. Benny's spirit is powerful still and continues to inspire us to help other families with seriously ill children by supporting Make-A-Wish.
